A federal judge has dismissed New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption case. Judge Dale E. Ho on Wednesday granted the Justice Department’s extraordinary request to set aside criminal charges so the mayor could aid President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

The second-year federal judge weighing whether to dismiss corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams has decided to dismiss the case with prejudice, meaning charges cannot be refiled at a later date.
The DOJ’s letter ordering federal prosecutors to drop the case sparked an exodus from the department and the Southern District of New York, which brought the case, including the interim head of the prestigious office, Danielle Sassoon, who raised the quid pro quo allegation in a searing resignation letter.
