Hall of Fame Chicago Cubs slugger and second baseman Ryne Sandberg has died, following a battle with prostate cancer.

The Chicago Cubs announced Monday that Major League Baseball legend and Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg has died at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer. Sandberg was initially diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in January 2024,

Ryne Sandberg has died. The baseball Hall of Famer, who spent most of his career with the Chicago Cubs playing second base, was 65. He later managed the Philadelphia Phillies. Sandberg died on Monday, July 28, the Cubs and Major League Baseball announced.
