Former UFC lightweight champ Charles Oliveira will fight in Brazil for the first time in more than five years when he meets Rafael Fiziev on Oct. 11 in Rio de Janeiro.

The UFC is heading to Rio on October 11th and it will be the homecoming for a former world champion. Former lightweight champion Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira (35-11) will fight in Brazil for the first time in over five years as he takes on 10th ranked lightweight contender Rafael Fiziev (13-4). The promotion announced the main event this morning.

Charles Oliveira will face Rafael Fiziev in the main event of UFC Rio on 11 October, in an intriguing, unexpected match-up. The fight marks Oliveira’s first contest in his native Brazil since 2020, and will see the former lightweight champion aim to bounce back from his brutal knockout by Ilia Topuria.
