The Ranch at Coulter Creek fire sparked near a Carbondale subdivision Sunday morning, north of Panorama Drive, and prompted mandatory evacuations, fire officials said.

Garfield County authorities have issued an evacuation order for residents in an area near of Carbondale for another wildfire burning in western Colorado.

The Coulter Creek Fire is currently active and has burned at least 35 to 40 acres near Panorama Road in Carbondale as of 1 p.m., according to the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District.
