David Raya credited Arsenal’s goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana after his double-save preserved a clean sheet during Thursday’s Champions League draw against Atalanta. Atalanta had been given the opportunity to take the lead in the second half of the pair’s league phase opener after Thomas Partey was penalised for a foul on Marten de Roon.

Arsenal began its Champions League campaign with a goalless draw and just one point against Europa League champion Atalanta. Mikel Arteta brought Gabriel Jesus into the side with Kai Havertz dropping down into midfield.

But goalkeeper David Raya showed why he was worth the $34.3 million transfer fee this offseason, saving not one but two shots from Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui and keeping Arsenal in the match.
